Can't make it to London?
You don't have to come to London to help make this the last time that the UK hosts the world's largest arms fair. Whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours, join with hundreds of others by taking action in your local area during the week of the fair (13-16 September).
Lobby your MP
2 minutes: Email your MP. It takes just two minutes with our template letter. If you have a few more minutes, please personalise it to make your action even more effective.
15 minutes: Reply to your MP. We've provided suggested responses and up-to-date news to help.
1 hour: Arrange to meet your MP in your constituency. Use the resources for the mass lobby to prepare what you want to say, and adapt the invitation to request a meeting in your constituency. Let us know what you are planning and we can send you petitions from local people to present to your MP, and put you in touch with local CAAT supporters if you like.
Collect signatures
We're taking our demand that the arms fair never takes place again to key decision-makers over the next few months: Vince Cable, former arms trade critic; Lord Green, who set aside his moral objections to arms sales to become Trade Minister; London's mayoral candidates; Party conferences, and others. Help us double the number of signatures during the week of the arms fair:
1 minute: Sign the petition to say This is NOT OK.
1 more minute: Share the petition by email or on Twitter or Facebook. Or order our This is NOT OK leaflets to give to friends and family.
30 minutes - 3 hours: Take to the streets to collect signatures! Order posters, leaflets and resources. Borrow a CAAT tablecloth. Have a look at our top tips for planning a street stall, and have a think about ways to make your stall have visual impact.
Target exhibitors
The chances are that one of the companies going to the arms fair is based near you. You could use this fact to write to local media about the arms fair, make a street stall more relevant or to plan a demonstration. More info and ideas.
