Universities Network 2009/10
The Universities Network exists to provide students and staff in higher education with information on arms companies' ties to universities and to encourage them to actively campaign and participate in breaking these ties.
Universities Day of Action: 24 February 2010
On 24 February students across the UK will take action against their university's ties to the arms trade through the careers service, the investments it holds, and military funding of research. By organising a series of protests on the same day we will be making the voice of students against the arms trade loud and clear.
Visit our Facebook Events Page for more information and links to past actions, download our briefing and if you have any questions please email the universities network co-ordinator.
Universities Network Gathering
On Saturday 6 March we are having a Universities Network Gathering at York University. This will be a day of workshops, talks and skill-sharing sessions on how to campaign against your university's links with the arms trade.
- Hear from members of the 'Disarm York' group about their ongoing campaign to get York University to divest from BAE.
- Listen to noted researcher Steven Schofield talk about the role the arms trade plays in the economy (to argue against those who say it provides vital jobs and makes up a large part of the UK's industry).
- Choose between workshops on disrupting arms company recruitment or other campaign skills. Share ideas and experience and plan future actions in our open session at the end of the day.
Open to all students and staff who want to end their university's support for the arms trade. Find out more and you're coming.
Keep an eye on our Facebook Events Page for venue and full programme. The event is free but spaces limited, so book now by emailing the universities network co-ordinator. We look forward to seeing you there!

University campaigns
Current campaigns include Clean Investment and Study War No More:
The University Clean Investment Campaign pages have information concerning investments in arms companies and advice and ideas on campaigning for ethical investment.
The Study War No More website contains data and analysis on military funding and influence at 26 UK universities between 2001 and 2006. It also provides information on how to research university-military links and how to start campaigning for change.
