Farnborough International 2004

Farnborough: Airshow or Arms fair? Farnborough International 2004 took place from July 19-25 in Hampshire. Not only was it the battleground for the sale of military aircraft and associated weapons systems but for the public acceptance of them too. At Farnborough 2004 military and civilian contracts totalling over $20 billion were announced. Military aircraft as well as missiles, cluster bombs and aircraft mounted machine guns were on sale and public display throughout the week, including on the public days.

CAAT produced an eight-page briefing about Farnborough International 2004, which you can download (pdf, 113kb). We also leafleted the 'public days' of the event to make people aware that it wasn't just an innocuous airshow, but a trade event at the heart of the international arms trade.
