Vital public services are being cut, yet UK military spending is among the highest in the world. Elsewhere, repression and death are a direct result of the UK government's zealous promotion of weapons.

Help stop this outrage manifesting itself in September 2013, when DSEi, one of the world's largest arms fairs, is due to take place in London's Docklands. Exactly six months before DSEi, make a date with CAAT's National Gathering. For one day, we can share ideas and inspiration, hear from experts, engage in debate and plan how to make a direct impact on the arms trade. CAAT's National Gathering in 2013 will share the latest information on the UK's scandalous weapons sales and how to stop them.

2013 Speakers
Owen Jones

We are delighted that Owen Jones will be keynote speaker for us this year. Jones worked as a parliamentary and trade union researcher before bursting onto the public consciousness with his first book “Chavs: The Demonisation of the Working Class”. He has written frequently, notably in his regular column for The Independent, about the close ties between members of the arms trade and British government, and of the use of UK-made weapons in repressive states against civilians.

In addition we look forward to hearing from Andrew Feinstein, the celebrated author of "The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade"- a highly-critical and monumentally detailed investigation into the corruptive effects of the arms trade on international governments and democracy. South African Feinstein was a member of parliament for the ANC but resigned after years campaigning for an investigation into the South African Arms Deal. Since then he has worked to expose some shocking cover-ups of arms deals and bribes governments would rather the public didn't know about.

Also, look out for workshops with Chris Cole of Drone Wars UK, Nicholas Gilby, author of the 'No Nonsense Guide to the Arms Trade', Katy West of CND and more!
