Forthcoming arms fairs

Arms fairs happen all year round, and all over the world. Many arms fairs are organised with support from the Government's arms sales unit, UKTI DSO. You can find out more about UKTI DSO's work promoting the arms industry, including a calendar of their forthcoming events, on CAAT's UKTI pages.

January

15-17: United Arab Emirates, Intersec

Intersec is an annual security fair held in the United Arab Emirates. UKTI DSO will be present to promote British arms companies. 'Homeland security' systems are a key focus of the show.

19-21: Bahrain Airshow

The Bahrain Airshow mixes civil and military aircraft and systems. Some of the world's largest arms manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin will be attending. There is also a public air show held during the arms fair.

31-2 Feb: Farnborough (UK), Security & Policing UK

Farnborough Security & Policing is an annual event organised by the Home Office. It is held at the FIVE venue in Farnborough, Hampshire, and showcases homeland security and surveilance technology. It is attended by police and security services from the UK and overseas at the invitation of the UK Home Office. UKTI DSO are official government partners for the event.

31-3 Feb: Australia, Pacific 2012

Pacific 2012 is a biennial arms fair in Sydney, Australia. The arms fair is supported by the Australian navy and showcases battleships, unmanned systems, and maritime weapons systems. UKTI DSO will be present to promote British arms companies.

February

14-19: Singapore Airshow

The Singapore Airshow is a biennial event. Special features in 2012 include a special display of unmanned drones and a Land defence pavillion. UKTI DSO will be present to promote British arms companies.

20-23: Farnborough (UK), International Armoured Vehicles UK

International Armoured Vehicles will take place at the FIVE venue in Farnborough, Hampshire. Attending the event will be officials from the Israeli Defence Force, the Egyptian Army, and the People's Liberation army of China. UKTI DSO and the UK MOD will be present. There will also be a conference on Land warfare taking place.

28: Turkey, Public Security Exhibition Ankara

Organised by the arms industry body ADS, this one-day event will be open to the Armed Forces, Turkish National Police, Gendarmerie, border and coast guard units and intelligence organisations amongst others. It is only open to UK companies and Visitors to the exhibition will be invited by the British Embassy in Ankara.

March

28: Copenhagen, Public Security Exhibition

Organised by the arms industry body ADS, visitors to the exhibition will be invited by the British Embassy in Copenhagen. They will include border police, military security and police, and counter-terror squads amongst others.

29-1: India, DEFEXPO

DEFEXPO is a biennial arms fair organised by the Indian Ministry of Defence. It showcases land, naval, and internal security systems. UKTI will offer funding for smaller arms companies to attend and will be attending.

April

10-12: Brazil, LAAD Security

LAAD is organised by Clarion Events, the company responsible for the controversial DSEi arms fair in London. The fair will feature weapons, unmanned systems, military vehicles and aircraft, and security equipment. Officials from the police, military and prison services, along with individuals from corporate security services, will be attending. The fair is supported by the UK government and there will be a UK pavillion. UKTI DSO are offering funding of up to £ 1800 for companies to attend.

16-19: Malaysia, Defence Services Asia

Defence Services Asia (DSA) is one of the larger arms fairs and is supported by UKTI DSO, who will have a stand at the fair. Visitors to the 2010 DSA fair included officals from Bahrain, China, Eqypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Korea. The 2010 arms fair was also attended by a high-profile UK delegation including then-Secretary of State for Defence Bob Ainsworth MP and the Head of the government arms sales unit UKTI DSO Richard Paniguian.
