High-level advisory bodies

We are in the process of updating information about advisory bodies. Some currently known information is given below.

Defence Suppliers' Forum

This is a new body that will replace the National Defence Industries Council (NDIC). Its composition and structure isn't known at this point.

Until being "disestablished" earlier this year, the NDIC was "the most senior forum for consultation between the Government and industry on defence matters" (MoD website). At its June 2010 meeting, 13 senior arms industry figures had access to 16 top-level government people including the Defence Secretary Liam Fox and three other ministers.

Other bodies include:

  • The Defence Export and Market Access Forum
    (present status unknown)
  • Aerospace Business Leaders group
    (see BIS news release)
  • Aerospace Growth Partnership
    (see BIS news release)
  • Aerospace & Defence Knowledge Transfer Network
    (see ADS website)
