EVENTS AGAINST LONDON ARMS BAZAAR
We are now pleased to confirm the following protests, actions and events will be taking place between 6th-12th September, against Europe's largest arms fair: Defence Systems Equipment International.

SHUT DSEi : Europe's Largest Arms Fair
Saturday 6th September:
"No Arms Fair" procession
12.00pm: Mass march through central London. Meeting on Victoria
embankment outside Temple station, then marching past Trafalgar Square,
the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street and the MoD, ending just
outside the imperial war museum in the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park.
Sunday 7th September:
DSEi Counter-conferences
Two conferences taking place during the day
From 12.00pm: St Annes Church Hall. Day of training and workshops including
Non-violent Direct Action Training, Speakers from Pressure Groups, NGO's
and many others, hosted by Campaign Against Arms Trade.
First of two-day counter conference, with workshops, speakers, training, stalls
and more hosted by Disarm DSEi. Venue to be confirmed. conference(at)dsei·org
Monday 8th September:
Candlelit Vigil
18.30: Candlelit prayer and vigil with local church and community, at
Excel Centre (Custom House DLR)
(Second day of Disarm DSEi conference)
Tuesday 9th September:
"Facing the arms traders"
10.00am: demonstration outside ExCeL just by Custom House tube station.
Meeting at the recreational ground opposite Prince Regent DLR Station.
There will then be a procession to Custom House. Early arrivers and
flexi-time workers are meeting opposite Custom House DLR station from
08.30am to welcome arms trade exhibitors as they arrive. A CAAT presence
will be there from 08.00am.
Non-violent direct actions are also planned for this day, including 'Mass NVDA at 1pm
working under the name FluffyDSEi
Wednesday 10th September:
"Stop The Industry"
Direct Action Day. Form an affinity group and plan your own form of
action against the arms manufacturing industry. Including 9am Meet the Arms Traders,
11am Blockade, 4pm Street Party
Peace vigil, Charring Cross
Thursday 11th September:
"Vigil in Black"
A vigil at Customs House DLR station. Remembering September 11th victims
and all victims of wars. Led by local churches.
Evening: Loud and lively demonstration at London hotel, where DSEi
delegates will be having their gala dinner.
Friday 12th September:
Benefit gig
Mark Thomas will be hosting an evening of music and comedy against DSEi. Contact CAAT for details.
