In 2011, the Egyptian junta browsed an enormous warehouse of weapons at the world's largest arms fair in London. As with Mubarak's regime before them, they were there at the invite of the UK government. We have two years to grow our movement against the arms trade to stop the fair returning in September 2013.

Come to the Campaign Against Arms Trade universities gathering 11am-5pm (followed by social), Warwick University A day long gathering of university students and staff (current and future) to find out about the arms trade, be inspired by the campaigning of others, and learn the skills to take on the arms trade at your university. Last year the National Gallery hosted an evening reception for weapons dealers, celebrating the first day of business at DSEi, the world's largest arms fair. Help get the arms dealers out of the Gallery! Stop the Arms Fair is launching a campaign to end the National Gallery's links with arms company Finmeccanica. There is loads of potential for artivism: using art to communicate and win the campaign. Get involved and help plan a creative and engaging launch action and sketch out future plans. |

Get ready for a summer of resistance against the arms trade with Smash EDO & CAAT 7pm for 7.30pm start. 9pm finish. Venue tbc, Norwich. Entrance is free, all welcome. In the last year, British armoured vehicles, tear gas and weapons have been turned on democracy protesters in the Middle East and North Africa. Despite this, the UK continues to arm these repressive regimes. The weapons are made in the UK. They are promoted and licensed by the UK government. It is up to us to stop this happening. Smash EDO, a Brighton based anti arms trade campaign has been taking direct action aimed at shutting down their local arms factory, EDO MBM/ITT since 2004. ITT supplies weapons to the US and UK for use in Afghanistan and to Israel for its repression of Palestinians. Come along to this talk and discussion hosted by Norfolk CAAT to find out how you can get involved in shutting EDO down this Summer.
