Despite economic hard times, the latest figures from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute show that global military spending hit record levels in 2008. UKTI DSO, the UK government's arms trade unit, recently celebrated the expanding market opportunities for arms companies in the Middle East – even persuading Monty Python Terry Jones to consider a career change!
UKTI uses taxpayers' money to help arms companies maintain their profits, but the real costs are paid by the millions of people whose lives are devastated by conflict. Please sign our petition calling for an end to this deadly work.
